Google released the latest Android 8.0 Oreo earlier this month with some stunning features. The factory images, or so called the system images, are now available for downloads for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Google Pixel, Pixel XL, and, Pixel C. Soon after the official AOSP sources were updated by Google, developers started porting them onto their own devices. The first custom AOSP 8.0 Oreo build came for Xiaomi devices. Now, the first Lineage OS 15 ROM has been developed for the Google Pixel C. Soon we will see other Google Pixel (XL), Nexus 6P, 5X, phones in support for Lineage OS.

The “lineage-15.0” kernel tree has been uploaded onto LineageOS Github. So you see the development has already in progress. Within next week you will see Lineage OS 15.0 unofficial builds showing up for many other Android phones. The ROM listed below is only for Pixel C. We have also listed the Gapps for the same. Thanks to developer followmsi.

Let’s begin with the first (BETA) release of Android 8.0 Oreo for Google pixel C based on LineageOS 15.0.

You will also need Google apps Gapps for your Pixel C. Download arm64 Gapps for the Pixel C listed below.

You can use the following config file to tell which apps to install and which to skip.

You can use the following config file as example:

See how to use the OpenGapps config file from here.

Here is another build with LineageOS installer script for Oreo. It is very basic and may not include all the various “asserts”. This prevents error 7 inside TWRP.
