Hydrogen OS (H2OS) Open Beta 7 and Beta 13 released [Downloads] – Oxygen OS Open Beta 16/7 next

OnePlus is releasing yet another update under its Open Beta program. This time it’s the Hydrogen OS (H2OS) Open Beta 13 for the OnePlus 3 and the Beta 7 for the OnePlus 3T. The update is still based on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat and not the Android 7.1.2. What we know thus far it that the H2OS Beta update 7 and 13 comes in a small OTA package of around 59 MB. It comes with several bug fixes for contacts and address book where contacts were being lost. It also brings some system stability fixes and performance updates. It only means Oxygen OS Open Beta 16 for OnePlus 3 is next in line. It will most likely be available for download by tomorrow or by the end of this week. Same goes for the Open Beta 7 for Oneplus 3. So go to Settings> System Upates> and check for updates. According to the screenshots shared by one of the H2OS Beta testers, the upgrade is still based on the earlier March 1, 2017, security patch level from AOSP sources. Though it should have been updated to May security patches as it is supposed to. This could be because the new sources are based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat firmware since April 2017 and OnePlus is not ready to release the update yet. Download the H2OS full firmware packages from below.

How to install H2OS Open Beta 7 onto OnePlus 3T and Beta 13 for OnePlus 3?

If your OnePlus device is running the older H2OS Public Beta 6 or Beta 12, then simply go to Settings> System Updates> and click on Check for Updates. Download and install the OTA. For a full tutorial, head over to this post.

Alternatively, if you are on official H2OS 3.o or the Oxygen OS 4.1.3 on your international variant of the device, then download the full firmware package from above. Transfer the entire package to the root directory of phone storage. Go to Settings > system updates and click on the upper right corner with a “Settings icon”. Choose “local upgrade”. Select the entire package and click on upgrade.
