LG G5 Android 8.0 Oreo Rollout Begins – Download Now!

LG, as we know, doesn’t have a good record for pushing OTA updates or even Android OS upgrades. LG does make some exceptional hardware phones. However, it is nothing without a good software and regular security updates. Software is also very important when it comes to making the most out of a phone’s hardware. LG is trying hard and rolling out Oreo updates for several previous flagship phones including the LG G5.

LG is getting into the update game. We have already seen Oreo update for LG V30, LG G6, and LG V20 in the last couple of months. The Android 8.0 Oreo firmware update now comes to LG G5. It is however, only available in South Korea for the Korean variants like the F700S/K/L. The Oreo OTA update now features a new build number F700S30d.

The KDZ for LG G5 F700 is now available for download below. Soon other variants of LG G5 H850 (Europe); LG G5 Speed H858 (Taiwan); VS987 (Verizon); H820 (AT&T); LS992 (Sprint); H830 (T-Mobile); US992 (US Cellular); Vodafone will start receiving the same. Oreo update comes with latest LG UX 6.0 with new adaptive icons, home screen layout, new and improved settings, app notifications, and much more. Apart from that, it also features all the Oreo goodies such as:

Download LG G5 Android 8.0 Oreo OTA and full stock KDZ firmware update

Currently, only the Korean variants have received the Oreo OTA update. So we only have the KDZ for LG G5 F700X.

How to Update LG G5 to Android 8.0 Oreo?

In order to get the OTA update, go to Settings > Software Updates > and check for OTA updates available for download.

Alternatively, you can also update your LG G5 device using the LG Bridge software. Here is the download for LG Bridge. Install LG Bridge to PC > Connect LG G5 to PC > Perform a software update.

Ultimately, you can restore LG G5 to complete stock using the KDZ firmware of Android 8.0 Oreo available in the download section. Then install the full KDZ stock firmware using LGUP Flash Tool and Uppercut.
