How to Install Android 7.1.2 Nougat on OnePlus One

According to the Lineage OS stats, the OnePlus One ranks first in terms of number of downloads for the latest Lineage OS 14.1. This means, most of the OnePlus One users are now turning their heads towards custom ROMs in order to upgrade the Android system. 1+1 is out of official OnePlus support; that means, no more official updates. The last Oxygen OS that the phone ever received was version 2.1.4. However, a new official Resurrection Remix 5.8.3 will update the OnePlus One to latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat firmware.

The official Lineage OS 14.1 brought 7.1.1 Nougat to the OnePlus One and several other phones. Also, the manufacturer is now furiously rolling out official Oxygen OS 4.1.3 updates to the flagships OnePlus 3 and the 3T. Whereas, other device users like OnePlus 2, OnePlus X, and 1+1 are disappointed as they rarely see any official OTA updates. The only way to update these devices is to install a custom ROM based on Nougat.

The Resurrection Remix is now rolling out Android 7.1.2_r5 Nougat with the latest AOSP and Lineage OS sources compiled into one. The RR ROMS are based on Lineage OS sources. This means that the official Lineage OS 15 based on 7.1.2 Nougat is on its way. Moreover, as the ROM is official, it comes with little to now bugs and can be used as a daily driver.
