Download Huawei P9 Official Android 7.0 Nougat EMUI 5 Beta firmware [Install]

As we know in recent weeks so many smartphones are getting Android Nougat 7.0 update like Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, LG G5, OnePlus 3, Sony Xperia X/Z3 and much more. However now, there is a good news for Huawei P9, P9 Plus, and P9 Lite users as well. Huawei has officially announced Android Nougat 7.0 Beta firmware for the original Huawei P9. A few months ago, a first beta version and EMUI 5 was available for P9 through a test build. But now, Huawei provides an official beta update for P9. The Android 7.0 Beta comes in the form of OTA zip file named update.zip and it is recommended to install the update through TWRP on a device with an unlocked bootloader.

The EMUI 5.0 based Nougat update for the device comes officially from Huawei and the links listed below are official firmware builds or as we call it OTA updates. The EMUI 5.0, the latest version of Emotion UI, finally made it to P9 following the Huawei Mate 9. The Nougat Beta version is more secured and improved device overall performance. However, it is a Beta testing version and comes with several bugs. So you may also want to revert back to stock on your Huawei P9 later on.

The Nougat firmware is available for model number EVA-L09 and EVA-L19 of Huawei P9. The software version of Nougat beta firmware is C432B322. Soon the firmware will be available for EVA-L29.

How to Install EMUI 5 based on Android 7.0 Nougat Beta Build On Huawei P9?

Although these are official Huawei updates, it is recommended to install the Nougat update via a custom TWRP recovery.The update may fail via dload method. The procedure is listed below.

Moreover, an additional update containing some missing apps needs to be installed separately over the beta build. It also corrects the build number. This needs to be flashed right after the update.app (without rebooting between flashes); listed above.

It is possible to rollback to stock EMUI 4.1.1 / Android 6.0 Marshmallow without any problems using the official rollback package from Huawei.

• Make sure the Huawei P9 Bootloader is unlocked.
• Make sure the latest TWRP Recovery is installed on P9.
• Reboot into TWRP recovery.
• Flash the Nougat beta firmware UPDATE.APP (the first update file containing L19C432B322)
• Flash additional apps package for above UPDATE.APP
• Reboot to System from TWRP.
