Right now, Google is rolling out the newest Android security patch level for the Nexus and Google Pixel devices. Even though the latest Android sources are being released right now, other manufacturers have already compiled the AOSP sources from March into their latest firmware updates. Some of them include the Android 7.1.1 Nougat for the OnePlus 3 and 3T with Oxygen OS Open Beta 12 and the new firmware for Huawei P8 Lite. Moreover, the Android 7.1.2 Nougat Developer Previews for the Nexus and Google Pixel are still in Public Beta state. The March 2017 security patch is still based on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat firmware. Update: The March 2017 security update is now safe to install on Nexus 6.

Factory images along with the OTA zip files are now available for most of the devices including Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9 (WiFi+LTE), Nexus 6, and Pixel C. Find the March update security bulletin from here. It lists a number of vulnerability fixes and security features.

The latest AOSP sources bring build number NOF27B & N4F26T  to Google Pixel and Pixel C respectively. The build N4F26T to the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X. The Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 (WiFi & LTE) now run N6F26U and N4F26T firmware. The Nexus Player is left out for now.

How to install March 2017 security patch on Google Pixel and Nexus?

The update comes in the form of OTA zip files and full factory images. The OTA updates can be downloaded via Settings>System updates. Alternatively, you can download the OTA zip files from above and install it via ADB sideload method.

The factory images, on the other hand, can restore the devices to complete stock. It will unroot, remove custom recovery (TWRP) and can even lock the bootloader. See how to install Factory Images on Nexus devices easily (Alternative tutorial).

You may also root the latest March 2017 security update by flashing the latest SuperSU 2.79 SR3 or later via TWRP recovery. See 3 ways to root the Android 7.1.1 Nougat firmware on Nexus.

The Nexus 10, 7, 5, & 4 will not receive any further updates. The only way to get latest March 2017 Nougat update is via official Lineage OS 14.1 ROM.
