Garena has officially launched the OB55 patch update for Free Fire, spearheaded by the return of the Naruto Shippuden crossover, “Chapter One: Nine Tails Strikes,” running from September 16 to October 15, 2026. The update brings playable Nine Tails bombardment mechanics, the debut of Hinata Hyuga, major character reworks, and a complete systemic overhaul of weapons and airdrops.
- Naruto Shippuden Chapter 1 (Sep 16 – Oct 15): Introduces the Sharingan: Control mechanic to command Nine Tails airstrikes, adds the Ninja Academy to the Hidden Leaf Village, and introduces the 8 Trigrams Palm Rotation jutsu.
- Pick-One Grand Prize: Players can complete missions to select either the new Hinata Bundle or the returning Jiraiya Bundle for free.
- Combat & Character Reworks: Kenta receives a complete redesign with teleportation and damage-reduction shields, while Morse, Luna, and Wukong undergo balance tuning.
- Upcoming Weapons (Oct 1): Four new firearms—the M7 Assault Rifle, Skorp SMG, RPK LMG, and Hawk Sniper—arrive alongside an overhaul to weapon class identities.
- Battle Royale Systems: Devices are now split into active and passive slots, airdrop timings are standardized, and a new team-train Follow mechanic joins the game.
Free Fire x Naruto Shippuden: Nine Tails Strikes Returns
The returning collaboration upgrades the previously seen Nine Tails battlefield events with interactive jutsu, new environmental areas, and anime audio assets.
Command the Nine Tails: Sharingan Control
The Nine Tails can trigger dynamic environmental hazards right at the beginning of a Battle Royale match:
- Airstrike on the Plane: Nine Tails hits the flight plane with a Tailed Beast Bomb, setting it ablaze and forcing an emergency ejection once the timer expires.
- Arsenal Breaches (Bermuda): A blast breaches map arsenals, allowing players to grab high-tier loot without an Arsenal Key.
- Impact Craters (Bermuda): Strikes the terrain directly, creating high-tier loot craters.
During mid-match phases, the Sharingan: Control pickup will spawn on the map. Players who secure it can select a targeted area for an airstrike:
- A danger zone warning displays over the selected coordinate for 5 seconds.
- Nine Tails fires a Tailed Beast Bomb, inflicting 60 explosive damage to all players within a 100-meter radius.
- The impact leaves behind 8 to 10 random flame spots (4-meter radius each) lasting 5 to 10 seconds.
- Standing within a flame spot inflicts 5 damage every 0.5 seconds. Leaving the fire incurs a lingering burn dealing 1 damage per second for 2 seconds.
Ninjutsu Skills, Ninja Tools, and Map Landmarks
Ninjutsu Skill Cards
Players can scavenge seven collectible Ninjutsu Skill Cards across Battle Royale:

- Heavy Shuriken: Launches a single high-velocity projectile dealing 30–60 damage.
- Fiery Kunai: Detonates after a brief delay across a 5m radius, inflicting 50–80 damage, followed by 10 burn damage per second and a 10% armor durability loss per second for 3s.
- Lightning Kunai: Detonates to prevent enemies from using throwables or viewing their minimap for 3s.
- Wind Kunai: Detonates to reduce enemy movement speeds by 20% to 50% for 3s, scaling stronger toward the epicenter.
Hidden Leaf Village Expansion & Reanimation Points
The collaborative cabin environment now includes the Ninja Academy. Players can explore classrooms, visit the Chunin Written Exam room, and interact with Naruto’s iconic swing to obtain a permanent 5% movement speed boost for the match.
Standard revival points across Battle Royale take on an Edo Tensei theme: capturing a point summons stone coffins from the earth, deploying revived squad mates directly on the ground with starter equipment and temporary invulnerability rather than parachuting them back in. Additionally, interacting with scattered Gamakichi summoning scrolls yields bonus battle supplies.
The atmosphere is backed by official music: Blue Bird plays during the initial skydiving sequence, and the NARUTO Main Theme scores the main lobby.
Rewards: Pick-One Grand Prize & Event Collectibles
For the first time, Free Fire has implemented a Pick-One Grand Prize system. By finishing event milestones between September 16 and October 15, players can select between two premium character sets:
- The Hinata Bundle: Recreates Hinata Hyuga’s Naruto Shippuden attire, featuring an interactive event interface Easter egg highlighting her Twin Lion Fists and Byakugan.
- The Jiraiya Bundle: Features the signature attire and scrolls of the Legendary Sannin.

- CS Store Additions: Players can directly purchase Ninjutsu Skill Cards and Kunai tools.
- Airdrops: Cyber Airdrops are replaced by Ninjutsu Scroll Airdrops, and the Hidden Leaf Village joins the map rotation.
New CS Throwables
- Flame Grenade: Burns for 6s over an expanding footprint. Enemies take 16 damage and 10% armor degradation every 0.5s; allies caught inside suffer friendly fire (8 damage and 10% armor loss every 0.5s). It melts enemy Gloo Walls at a rate of 100 damage every 0.5s.
- Sonar Grenade: Scans and reveals enemy outlines within a 10m radius for 3s.
- Smoke Grenade: Visual density updated to mirror the tactical Smoke Vortex.

Other character adjustments include:
- Morse: Stealth viability adjusted. Enemy aim-assist trigger range during stealth increased from 4m to 12m, while maximum stealth duration drops from 15s to 13s.
- Luna: Firing speed conversion tuned. Base rate of fire bonus reduced from 8% to 5% (movement speed conversion ratio remains untouched).
- Wukong: Bush transformation cooldown buffed from 90s down to 75s.
- Super Bonfire (CS Market): EP regeneration nerfed from 20/s to 10/s, and the firing interval reduction bonus drops from 15% to 8%.
Comprehensive Weapon Adjustments & New Additions (Oct 1)
Launching with the new Clash Squad season on October 1, four new weapons introduce a non-spread upward recoil kick, requiring controlled burst firing:
- M7 (Assault Rifle): Fully automatic rifle with an upward recoil drift designed for mid-to-long-range headshots. Available as rare ground loot, in blue zones, arsenals, and Vending Machines (400 FF Coins, limit 5).
- Skorp (SMG): Rapid-fire close-quarters weapon with high base armor penetration. Acts as the default drop weapon after a Battle Royale Super Revival.
- RPK (LMG): Hybrid heavy firearm combining LMG sustained fire capacity with AR mobility handling.
- Hawk (Sniper Rifle): Two-round magazine rifle with quick cycle rates, capable of bursting down low-tier armor targets.
Systemic Weapon Class Rebalancing
WEAPON CLASS META SHIFTS:
* SMGs: Mobility increased significantly (+15% to +40% firing movement speed); effective range dropped by 8% to 30%.
* Assault Rifles: Mid-to-long-range accuracy increased (+6% to +21%); reload speeds slightly lowered.

Core Battle Royale & Quality of Life Adjustments
- Dual-Device Loadout Slots: Devices are now divided into separate Active (Launch Pad, Portal Go, UAV-Lite, Turrets) and Passive (Dragon Sprinters, Jammer, Horizaline) slots, allowing players to carry one of each.
- New Follow Train Mechanic: Teammates can queue into an automated trailing line using the Train emote. The train leader gets an exclusive navigation flag marker. Engaging in combat, taking damage, or interacting with vehicles breaks the formation.
- Airdrop Scheduling: Regular airdrops appear at 160s (4 total). Dual Defense Airdrops drop simultaneously at 410s with full-squad gear. A single Ultra Airdrop spawns at 410s with Level 5 armor and revive functions.
- Revival Tuning: Solo revival timers at match start reduced from 540s to 410s. Revived players can preview and switch weapons during parachute descent.
- Arsenal Infiltration: Players can shoot through arsenal glass panels to enter without needing an Arsenal Key.
- Lone Wolf (Duel of Honor): Introduces dedicated 1v1 duel flags, in-match emoticons, and post-match profile display banners.
Step-by-Step: How to Use the Sharingan to Command Nine Tails
- Monitor Mini-Map Spawns: In mid-match Battle Royale, look for the designated Sharingan icon appearing within safe play zones.
- Interact to Claim Control: Approach and capture the Sharingan: Control orb.
- Target Coordinates: Open the tactical map interface and select a high-density enemy compound or chokepoint.
- Trigger Bombardment: Confirm the coordinates. A 5-second zone alert will flash for players inside the area.
- Flush Out Enemies: Nine Tails will launch a Tailed Beast Bomb dealing 60 impact damage, spawning lingering flame zones to restrict enemy movement and deplete opposing armor durability.
