Today, Google officially announced the launch of its first-ever foldable smartphone, the Google Pixel Fold, which is set to be released on May 10, 2023. Google’s Twitter account released a video showcasing the Pixel Fold in all its glory. The design looks very similar to that the of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Being a foldable phone, the Pixel Fold can fold vertically from the center. The inner foldable display is made out of a unique mixture of glass and plastic – the same as Samsung Foldables. However, the Pixel Fold has thicker bezels on the inner screen and also has space for the front-facing camera. It also has an outer screen with a punch-hole camera cutout.

As for the specifications, the Pixel Fold will feature a Tensor G2 SoC, which is the latest chipset designed by Google and manufactured by the Samsung Foundry. The device promises to deliver top-notch performance and speed. This is the same processor that powers the flagship Pixel 7 Pro.

The Pixel Fold features dual display. The outer is a 5.8″ 120Hz AMOLED display and the inner is a 7.6″ 120Hz AMOLED display. This innovative design allows users to enjoy a large screen experience while still having a compact device that can be easily carried around.

The Pixel Fold also boasts an impressive camera setup, with a 48MP OIS primary camera, a 10.8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10.8MP telephoto camera. This camera setup is expected to deliver stunning images and videos, even in low-light conditions, thanks to advanced software and hardware tuning from Google Camera.

The Pixel Fold also comes with a 4500mAh battery that supports fast charging at up to 20W, ensuring that users can stay connected and productive throughout the day. Additionally, the Pixel Fold runs on the latest Android 13 operating system.

Of course, all these features come at a premium price, with the Pixel Fold rumored to retail for $1799.
