Samsung released an update to disable Bixby Home (Lowest rated app on Galaxy store)

In the world where smartphones are now very personal to everyone, many manufacturers and companies are launching their own personal assistants. As of now, there are several personal assistant applications like Google Assistant, Siri by Apple, Cortana from Microsoft, Facebook’s upcoming AI, and much more. The latest manufacturer to enter the game is Samsung with its very own Bixby Home application. In fact, the company also dedicated a Bixby key to some of its latest Android devices like the Galaxy S8 and the Note 8. Today, Samsung has released an update to disable the Bixby services. Apparently, not many Samsung users are a fan of Bixby’s assistive services. Mostly because of it’s intruding nature. Some even find it annoying as it opens up every time you press the Bixby button accidentally or otherwise. And also because you just can’t disable it. Samsung also has been quite aggressive towards pushing the Bixby update and making users use the service. Due to this, it becomes one of the lowest rated app on Galaxy app store.

So, Samsung has come to a decision to push an update to Bixby Home APK to allow users to disable it. Some of the regions many now have the full compatibility because they haven’t received the all of the Bixby services yet like voice. You can still partially disable the Bixby app.

• Go to Samsung’s Galaxy App store.
• Search for Bixby.
• Update all the Bixby related apps.
• You will now see a new Bixby Home disable option. (Refer the images below)

• Tap on the home screen and hold it for a few seconds. Disable the Bixby home widget from there.

• Once you update the app, you will immediately see the Bixby key option. Turn off the option “Open Bixby Home when you press Bixby key”
