OxygenOS Open Beta 24 for OnePlus 3 and Beta 15 for OnePlus 3T – Blueborne vulnerability Patch

As predicted, the OxygenOS Open Beta updates for the OnePlus 3 devices are here. The update is not very fascinating. Just some minor bug fixes. The Open Beta 24 for OnePlus 3, however, does bring a new boot animation to the device. Along with that you will see an added “Soft” screen calibration. The screen calibration has been reverted to soft again. You will find the option under Settings > display > screen.

Open Beta 15 for OnePlus 3T comes with the same update log as the same updates are pushed for both the devices. Another update comes to the Community app with v1.9.5. As reported earlier OnePlus is reportedly rolling out the Android 8.0.0 Oreo closed beta for OnePlus 3 and 3T. According to other publishers, this was supposed to be the Oreo update. However, as the manufacturer only releases 2 beta updates a month. The highly anticipated date for the Oreo release could be the very next Beta update which will be on the first date of next month, that is, October 1, 2017.

Update log for OxygenOS Open Beta 24/15

Update: This open beta has patched the Blueborne vulnerability independent of the Android security patch. Therefore, some blueborne vulnerability scanners may not recognize the independent patch.

System:

• Added “Soft” screen calibration
  • We’ve reverted the screen calibration and added the new calibration from last build as “soft.” You can enable the new calibration in the “display> screen” calibration section of settings.

How to update OnePlus 3/3T to OxygenOS Open Beta 24/15?

If you are on a previous Open Beta update, then download and install the latest OTA update from Settings > System Updates > Check for updates.

Installation instructions

Step 1: Download the full stock firmware file from above.

Step 2: Make sure your OnePlus 3/3T device has stock recovery installed.

Step 3: Transfer the firmware to phone storage.

Step 4: Go to settings app.

Step 5: Tap on System updates.

Step 6: Tap on the three vertical dots on top right corner.

Step 7: Choose ‘Local upgrade’ option.

Step 8: Choose the OxygenOS firmware file.

Step 9: Proceed with installation.

Reboot and enjoy the latest Open Beta 24/15 on your Oneplus 3/3T.
