The Zenfone 3 Zoom is in no way, a device to be taken lightly. Flaunting its iconic dual camera setup every chance it gets, the device still felt something amiss thanks to Android Marshmallow which came out of the box. Fortunately though, Nougat for Zenfone 3 Zoom is finally rolling out, albeit, in phases.

The update which carries the build number ZE553KL_ WW_V20.31.49.2, weighs in at about 1.9GB and updates your device to Android 7.1.1. The update includes the June security patch and brings some much needed aesthetic changes to the ZenUI.

The changelog for the update is as follows:

  • Android N
  • RAW file support
  • Portrait Mode
  • Built-in Google Now and Google Assistant Support
  • Bloatware Removal
  • Customizable Quick Settings Tiles

The update is currently being provided via OTA but can also be manually installed via a flashable zip file

Furthermore, the Nougat update also adds various native features like improved doze mode, split-screen apps, and customizable quick settings.

The Zenfone 3 Zoom is a brilliant device aiming at the selfie loving audience. The updation of the device to Nougat and a massive change of the ZenUI further endears it to us. Only if the updates were a tad faster and ever so often.
