The Verizon carrier has brought a surprise update for the Droid Turbo 2 users. Yes, your guess is right. It’s the Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware update that comes its way. Although Verizon is termed slow in terms of releasing updates, this is a great deal for users eagerly waiting for it. Following many Moto devices like the Moto G, Moto X Pure, Moto G3, Moto E, that received a similar upgrade, Droid Turbo 2 is second in the row. What’s New?
- Now on Tap
- App Standby
- Doze mode
- App permissions
- Expandable storage (adoptable)
- Do not disturb mode
- Expanded volume controls
- Direct Share
- Do not disturb integrated with Assist
- Attentive Display now part of Moto Actions
Here is the software information:
- SU1A: 23.31.24.kinzie_verizon.verizon.en.US
- SU1B Reg 3: 24.14.10.kinzie_verizon.verizon.en.US
It brings multiple improvements and new features as well as performance optimisations for the phone along with all the latest features from Marshmallow like the doze mode. For now, the update is being rolled out since March 1. It should then be followed by the devices other than the United States. It should not take too long to reach other variants as well.
Unfortunately, OTA isn’t available right now, but if you or someone you know has a download notification, then you can capture it using the OTA capture guide for yourself and share the OTA URL with everyone(link at the bottom). We will share the link once we get the OTA URL. So stay tuned.
