Nothing OS 3.0 Full Changelog and Feature List on AndroidSage.com

Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 2 Rolled Out! Download

Nothing OS 3.0 is creating quite the buzz among Nothing Tech enthusiasts. When the full changelog and feature list surfaced, anticipation for the firmware update hit fever pitch. The initial beta, featuring Android 15 for the Phone 2a and Phone 2, launched last month, and today, Nothing Tech has unveiled the second Open Beta for the Phone 2a.

The newest iteration, Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 2, delivers an array of bug fixes and fresh features, all packed with the November 2024 security patch. The first update introduced a sweeping system redesign. From the Homescreen and Lockscreen to Quick Settings and the newly enhanced Smart Drawers, users are greeted with a cleaner, more intuitive interface, while Android 15 underpins the experience, complete with its advanced features.

A feature unique to Nothing phones is the Shared Widgets, which also came to stable version recently. Using shared widgets, Nothing phone users can interact with loved ones in new ways. You can now display and respond to each other’s widgets on the home screen, making connections more interactive and fun.

One of the most exciting features is the AI-driven Smart Drawer. This tool intelligently organizes apps into folders, enhancing efficiency and ease of use. You can even pin your most-used apps to the top, putting an end to endless swiping. In beta 2, the accuracy of app categorization is improved in Smart Drawer; though newly downloaded apps might take a few moments to be sorted properly. An auto-sort option now organizes apps and folders based on your usage patterns.

Quick Settings – Animations have been smoothed out, including swiping effects, transitions of the Bluetooth tile, and the resizing animations of other tiles. The ring tile’s usability in the Quick Settings Widget has also been enhanced.

Photography enthusiasts will love the camera enhancements. Launching the Camera Widget is now speedier, and HDR scene processing is notably quicker. Portrait mode has been fine-tuned to deliver more realistic blur effects based on face size, and low-light shots now look sharper and clearer.

The improved pop-up view feature takes multitasking to a new level. You can drag and resize pop-up windows by pulling at the corners, pin them to the screen edge for quicker access, or swipe down on notifications to engage in pop-up view mode without ever leaving your current app. This feature is bolstered by partial screen sharing, optimizing screen recording with precision.

Additional enhancements include an automatic archiving feature, which clears storage space without deleting any apps or data. The setup wizard now runs on version 3.0, easing new users into the system. Predictive back animations for compatible apps are also here, along with a sleek new fingerprint animation, proudly showcasing Nothing’s signature dot matrix style.

AI now intelligently selects and highlights your most-used apps for faster access. For gamers, PUBG supports a high refresh rate of 90 fps for fluid gameplay. A tutorial has also been added to guide first-time users through the pop-up view feature, and various performance improvements and bug fixes round out the update.
