Google released the stable version of Android 13 with August 2022 security update for the Pixel lineup. Following this, many smartphone makers stepped in and released their own Android 13 skin via respective beta programs.
OnePlus already released stable Oxygen OS 13 for OnePlus 10 Pro and has an active open beta program for OnePlus 9 series. Here is the first Android 13 ROM for OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and 8T rolling out via first ColorOS 13-based Open Beta program.
Color OS 13 vs Oxygen OS 13
If you don’t already know, OnePlus and Oppo have merged, and the firm removed Hydrogen OS and replaced it with their proprietary software called Color OS. But that’s only for the Chinese OnePlus variants. The global variants will continue receiving Oxygen OS 13.
However, looking at the features and visuals, Oxygen OS 13 is just a rebranded Color OS 13 under the hood. That means, there is no difference between the global and Chinese variants software-wise.
So you might as well just try Color OS 13 open beta if you want to try Android 13 one your OnePlus devices. However, do note that this is the first build. OS it may not be a daily driver. You will need to test it yourself.
Color OS 13 features a new Aquamorphic design that is inspired by water. So it has a blueish theme to it.
At the recent OnePlus 10T 5G launch event, OnePlus unveiled Oxygen OS 13. The firm seems to have completely revamped the user interface with some colorful new designs.
Take a look at ColorOS 13:
