Google just rolled out a new update to the Pixel 5 camera app with build – Google Camera 8.2. It brings an enhanced experience while taking videos with a long-press functionality for the shutter button.

The latest Pixel 5G introduced a new Google Camera 8.1 APK to the Android community. It features ultrawide lens support or Google Camera app, cinematic pan for videos, Night Sight in Portrait Mode, Portrait Light , New editor in Google Photos, and much more. Checkout all the Google Camera 8.1 features from our previous post. This comes on top of the already existing features like Astrophotography mode and Night Sight mode for night photography.

Google Camera 8.2 brings a very useful enhancement while taking videos. You can now press and hold the shutter button, while in video mode, and slide your finger to either zoom in/out or even lock the video recording. So if you slide your finger to left, it will zoom. If you side it down, it will lock the video recording for hands-free mode. Once you’ve locked the recording, you can release your finger, and the video will continue to record.

This is the only and one of the biggest changes we saw in Gcam 8.2. Yesterday, the Play Store updated the Gcam listing to Google Camera 8.2 APK with a minor but useful feature. The update comes to the Pixel 5, but can also be installed on previous Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 4a, Pixel 3 series using Gcam 8.2 Mods. You can expect the mods to come as soon as this month.
