Mi Box S or 4K Android 9 Pie ota update

Xiaomi Mi Box S and Mi Box 4K are on their fourth beta program. The Mi Box S has received several beta programs so far, before finally settling for the stable OTA based on Android 9 Pie. However, seems like the 4th beta program is over and Xiaomi is testing a new Android 9 Pie stable release featuring all the changes and critical bug fixes from the previous betas. The latest update features build number R3139 and bring support for Xiaomiโ€™s peel Mi Remote. This new app helps you control your Android Box using your smartphone.

Peel Mi Remote is an extension for the stock Xiaomi Mi Remoteย that helps you control all of your Xiaomi devices right from your smartphone. It makes the Mi Remote app truly universal for TV and set-top box. However, you still need an infrared IR blaster on your Xiaomi smartphone in order to use the app.

Apart from Peel Mi remote integration, the latest Android 9 Pie stable OTA also brings compatibility for more Bluetooth Gamepads. Furthermore, build R-3139 full OTA is a system update rolling out on both โ€“ beta and stable channels. So even if you are a beta tester, you should download the previous R3138 update and receive a new R-3139 system update.

Changelog:

R-3139 build resolves the following critical issues:

  1. Supporting peel MI remote which helps you control your MiBox from your smartphone
  2. Compatible with more BT Gamepads

One of the previous updates in the OTA4 Beta program featured support for Xiaomiโ€™s newย Peel Mi Remote app. It also fixed some bugs such as green screen issues and USB issues. You can also expect these critical bug fixes in the latest stable Android 9 Pie OTA release for Xiaomi Mi Box S/4K.

I thought bugs are over, but after december 2020 update 3139 (and i have three Mi box S) all three crash, audio stops, streaming aplication stops , mediaplayers dont see anymore external storage, Hdmi CEC has often problems to open tv, boxes dont start…

I made hard reset to all (i erased dalvik cache etc.) is all the same i have to periodicaly reboot device. I will buy nvidia Shield , i am tired of this!!!!!

PS: Yes forgot to said, they never fix the color bug, after a HDR content the box stay in BT2020 space and you need to stand by and reopen box.
