OnePlus is about to launch their latest flagship phones of 2020 called the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. This upcoming OnePlus 8 series is expected to launch as soon as next month April 2020. The 7T series just received their first Open Beta firmware update yesterday, followed by similar Open Beta 10 update for the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro; released just now. This comes at the right time as Google is testing their next Android 11 OS update for the Pixel series. So as soon as the developer preview is over, the OnePlus 7 series and even the new 8 series will get Android 11 via beta channel first. So this is a great time to be on Open Beta for OnePlus users.
The latest Open Beta 10 OTA update for the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro brings some general bug fixes, system stability, firmware security, and stunning new features. First off, it comes with the latest February 2020 Android security patch level. The update also features RAM management optimizations, improvements to the single and double-tap performance of Ambient display and lock screen, enhanced settings page with new “improved content” tag. The Phone app now has better contact details screen. While the Gallery app fixed audio and video problems while preloading videos respectively.
However, the unlike the first Open Beta for the OnePlus 7T series, the OB 10 for the 7 and 7 Pro does not feature the most anticipated Live Caption feature. Live Caption can automatically transcribes speech from any media into subtitles or words playing on your device in real time. You can enable this feature from Settings > System > Accessibility > Live Captions. Live Captions may come to the OnePlus 7 series some time later in the next couple of beta updates. Meanwhile, download and install the latest Open Beta 10 for OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro.
