4. Fully charge your device as the process make take a while.

How toย Lineage OS 14.1 for Lenovo ZUK Z1

Step 1: Downloadย theย ROMย  of your choice from above. Also, download the Android Nougat compatible Google Apps from the above download section. If you are looking for root after installation, download the SuperSU package from the list.

Step 2: Transfer all the necessary files to you deviceโ€™s internal storage or SDcard. Place the files where you can easily locate it.

Step 3:ย Now boot into TWRP recovery. To do so, turn off your device completely and then press and hold the power button and volume down key for a few seconds. Once you see the TWRPย logo, that means you have successfully booted into the recovery. Alternatively, if you have rooted device, then use Android apps like the Quick boot or Boot Smart.

Step 4:ย Once into TWRP, take a Nandroidย backup. To do so, tap Backup option and select all the partitions including the system, data, boot, recovery, EFS and cache(optional).

Step 5:ย Now wipe the current system. To do so, return to home screen and tap the Wipe option in TWRP. Tap Advanced Wipe and select partitions like system, boot, data, cache, Dalvik cache. Do not, in any case, select internal storage, unless you know what you are doing.

Step 6:ย Now return to the home screen again and tap Install option. Navigate to the ROM file fromย your internal storage and select it.

Step 7:ย Now swipe right on the confirmation action button below to install the ROM.

Step 8: Once installed, go back and select the compatible Google apps zip file from the location in your internal storage.

Step 9:ย Once selected, swipe right on the confirmation action button below to flash them.

Step 10:ย Once installation completes, you can wipe the Dalvik cache or simply chooseย reboot to system option.

Step 11:ย Once you reboot, you should see the new bootย logo. This means that the ROM has been installed successfully. First boot may take a while. If the ROM doesnโ€™t boot or you come across boot loop, a factory reset from the recovery should do the trick. If that fails, you can restore your previous ROM from the TWRP recovery.

Is 6.0.1 better than 5.1.1 in Lenovo Zuk Z1 .. ? there were some bugs/issues in 5.1.1 but the interface and processing was good, what about the new one? kindly, reply me asap. I am willing to update but ….

CyanogenMod skipped the 5.1.1 and jumped to CM 13 officially. So I recommend going with CM 13. It may not have all the functions at this moment, but at least it will be stable.

Ok now, according to your queries, I believe you are on stock ROM which means the OS that came with your device originally. If thats the case, then you ptobably have Cyanogen OS. If you have update notification then go ahead and update it. This here is a custom ROM a CM 13 rom. Have you installed a TWRP?

Yes, u r right dear. no i hvnt installed TWRP yet. so in my case, if I go ahead and update the OS, and then want to rollback, will it be safe and fine?

If its an official update then it should fix the bugs you are facing right now. It is for better good. And no you won’t be able to go back once u update. For that you will need the full firmware file for the previous build u want and then flash it manually. It’s a totally different process.
