Wuthering Waves, the alternative to Genshin Impact is now available for download, hours before the launch date. The game developed by KuroGames, will officially launch on May 22 (PT) and the pre-downloads will begin on May 21 at 03:00 (PT). Wuthering Waves comes to all platforms including Android, iOS, Windows, PlayStation, and Steam Deck.

Wuthering Waves is a story driven open-world action RPG game with a high level of freedom. Many compare the game to Genshin Impact due to it’s similarities like the Gatcha system, graphics, and even the open world aspect of it. However, Genshin Impact is much more matured at this point. So if you feel overwhelmed as a new player, or the lack of content as a longtime player, you can try Wuthering Waves.

What’s new in Wuthering Waves 1.0.0?

In the update 1.0, you get to explore the first city of Huanglong. You wake up as Rover and join a cast of Resonators on a journey to reclaim your lost memories and overcome the Lament.

This post-apocalyptic setting, known as Solaris-3, is where players begin their quest to recover lost memories and overcome the challenges that lay ahead. The narrative is enriched with a vibrant cast of characters known as Resonators, each with their unique abilities and backstories, adding depth and variety to the player’s journey.

Players can make use of mechanics like grappling and wall dashing allowing for fluid and dynamic movement across the landscape, making exploration both exhilarating and rewarding.

Players can dodge, counterattack, and use Echo Skills in a seamless combat system that emphasizes speed and precision. The game also introduces Quick Time Events (QTE) that add a layer of interactivity and excitement to battles, ensuring that every encounter feels unique and thrilling.

Resonators, the companions you meet along your journey, play a crucial role in “Wuthering Waves.” Each Resonator has distinct abilities, known as Fortes, and unique personalities that contribute to both the narrative and combat dynamics. Forming a team of Resonators allows players to create a harmonious and strategic approach to overcoming the game’s challenges.

Highlight feature of “Wuthering Waves” is the Echo system. Players can capture the phantoms of defeated enemies, known as Tacet Discords, and harness their Echoes. These Echoes provide various skills and abilities.

Wuthering Waves is now available for pre-download and is free to play for everyone. You can get in on the ride early and earn yourself some 5-star characters early in the game.

How to download Wuthering Waves?

If you are a Windows user, you can download the Genshin Impact update before its official release.

• Download and install the latest game launcher from above.
• Open the game launcher.
• Click on the settings or gear icon on the right sidebar.
• Go to Game Updates.
• Download the latest update.

PC: Close the game, open the Wuthering Waves Launcher, and click Update.
iOS: Open the App Store and tap Update.
Android: Open the game and follow the directions on-screen.
PS5 and PS4: Highlight Wuthering Waves from the Home Screen, press the OPTIONS button and select “Check for Update.”
