Google Pixel Watch May 2024 Update is the Smallest Security Patch

Google released the latest security patch for the Pixel Watch series. The recent May 2024 update rollout of the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 update is a small update packing just a security patch. This comes right after the huge March Pixel Feature Drop with many AI (Artificial Intelligence) integrations for the Pixel lineup.

The Pixel Watch now stands equipped with the latest security enhancements, marked by the “May 5, 2024” security patch level with the build number TWD9.240505.001.A1. That’s the only thing listed in the patch notes from Google.

The changelog for the Pixel Watch May 2024 update primarily highlights the integration of the monthly security patch. According to the Wear OS Security Bulletin, it patched 4 vulnerability related to framework and system.

Google recently released Wear OS 4 firmware update for the OG Pixel Watch based on Android 13. Following the March Feature Drop, it is now time for the monthly security updates and bug fixes based on Wear OS 4. Today’s May 2024 security update for the Pixel Watch 1 and 2 patched a few security vulnerabilities.

• Disconnect your watch from your phone. (It is better to download the update directly on your smartwatch)
• Connect your Pixel Watch to WiFi network.
• On your watch, go to Settings > System Update > Check for update.
• Download and install the Pixel Watch update.
• Enjoy your latest update.

• Go to the system update screen on your watch
• Find the little watch icon on the update screen.
• Keep tapping it until it forces the OTA update download notification.
