As for the original Google Camera 8.4.500 for the Pixel phones, it added or fixed Material You visuals to the unfinished parts of the camera settings panel. Gcam 8.4.500 now comes with a cleaner and lighter UI by hiding most of the options under settings or gear icon on the top right corner. You will notice a gear icon next to the chevron symbol. You will need to pull down the screen from the top in order to see the settings and options panel. The viewfinder now has more real estate.

It also fixed the front camera flash on Pixel 6 devices, as reported by one user. You will notice enough padding added such that the illumination is subtle.

The previous Google Camera 8.4.400 update fixed the issue where the QR code URLs were incorrectly recognized on Android 12. The newer version also features a Timer light, an option to disable Exposure controls, an updated settings menu and shortcut.

The best part about Gcam 8.4.500 listed below is that it is a modded version of Google Camera app; with a different package name. So you can run Gcam alongside the original Google Camera app on the Pixel.
