The OnePlus 10 Pro debuted months ahead of schedule in China along, and it does so without the device’s standard non-Pro model. So, what’s new with OnePlus’s latest flagship smartphone? Here’s all we know about the OnePlus 10 Pro!
The OnePlus 10 Pro design has been tweaked this time around. While the phone’s recognizable screen-to-body ratio has been retained on the front, the back features a new camera setup; resembling that of the Samsung Galaxy S21. The three cameras, along with the flash, are positioned in a square patch, with an extension from the edge rather than the corner. The Hasselblad logo is also clearly visible on the camera side.
The OnePlus 10 Pro features a 6.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a QHD+ 120Hz panel. However, it is fitted with a 2nd generation LTPO, which means it has a variable refresh rate between 1Hz going up to 120Hz faster than the OnePlus 9 Pro. It also has Dual Color Calibration and has been calibrated for both high and low light levels.
The OnePlus 10 Pro may also be certified for HDR10+, 10-bit colour depth, MEMC compatibility, and sRGB and DCI-P3 color space support.
As for the performance, the OnePlus 10 Pro is equipped with Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, as well as up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. While new silicon is intriguing, the OnePlus 10 Pro’s battery and charging configuration may be the most interesting features. For starters, the battery has been increased to 5,000 mAh. With the 80W SuperVOOC Flash Charger, it is estimated to fully charge in 32 minutes. OnePlus also includes an 80W charging brick and USB-C cable in the package.
Moving to the cameras, OnePlus as once again collaborated with Hasselblad. The OnePlus 10 Pro is equipped with a 50MP lens with a 150° field of view at the rear. The phone will take images with a more traditional 110° FoV with distortion correction by default. Users may also utilize the Camera app to switch between 150° and Fisheye modes if they like. The front camera has been upgraded to a 32MP sensor.
Most importantly, in China, the OnePlus 10 Pro will feature the latest ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12. Whereas, the smartphone may be released in India, Europe, and North America with OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12.
OnePlus 10 Pro Release Date and Price
The OnePlus 10 Pro goes on sale on January 13 in China in Volcanic Black and Emerald Forest colors at the following prices:
- 8GB + 128GB: CNY 4,699 (~$740; ₹54,500)
- 8GB + 256GB: CNY 4,999 (~$785; ₹58,000)
- 12GB + 256GB: CNY 5,299 (~$830; ₹61,500)
The device will later launch in India, Europe, and North America at the above-mentioned prices.
