OnePlus just recently released the most anticipated Android 11 firmware update for the entire OnePlus 7 series. It came with Oxygen OS based Open Beta 1. However, the update was soon put on hold for the 7T series as it wiped the internal storage; resulting in loss of data. The HotFix OTA, however, was quickly released which retained user data. Here is a more stable Open Beta 2 for the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro available for download.

Today, the OEM released Open Beta 2 OTA update for OnePus 7, 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro across the globe featuring improvements to the Oxygen OS 11 firmware. This covers the entire OnePlus 7 variants from regions like North America, India, and EU. The OTA brings several system optimizations, bugs fixes, and improvements to the power consumption of the devices.

Some of the most noteworthy optimization include adjusting intensity of automatic brightness for a smoother user experience. Fixed the issue where charging and using headset won’t work simultaneously. As for the OnePlus Camera, fixed the flashback issue while unlocking in professional mode.

The Open Beta 2 finally brings support for the most anticipated Always-on ambient display feature. However, its only available for the OnePlus 7 Pro for now. You can access AOD from Settings – Utilities – OnePlus Laboratory – Always-on ambient display.
