Google released the official Android 9.0 Pie build for all the Pixel series devices including OG Pixel (Xl) and the Pixel 2 (XL). The new Pie firmware update comes with several new features like the Adaptive Brightness, Adaptive Battery, Actions, Slice, new navigation system, swipe gestures, home pill, and much more. Here is the Lineage OS 16.0 ROM based on Android 9 Pie for the Google Pixel and Pixel XL devices.
Lineage OS, formerly known as CyanogenMod, is the most poplar custom ROM for Android devices. This is due to its no nonsense features, little to no bloatware, performance due to its light weight, and ability to modify the system as you like. Most important, a lot of custom ROMS developers use Lineage sources to build their ROMS as well. Now, Lineage OS is being undated to Android 9 Pie; it is the best start for Android community.
Thanks to developer razorloves, the first build of Lineage OS 16 is now available for download for the Google Pixel (sailfish) and Pixel XL (marlin). We also have the Gapps for LineageOS 16 ROM by MindTheGapps.
How to Install Lineage OS 16 ROM onto Google Pixel devices?
The following Lineage OS 16.0 ROMS are available only for the Google Pixel XL (marlin) and Pixel (sailfish). Do note that these are unofficial builds of the ROM. So you may see some bugs at the moment. however, with further builds, you may expect some stability.
Download Google Pixel and Pixel XL Lineage OS 16 ROM
Before you begin, your devices must be on the latest Android 9 Pie Vendor, Radio, & Bootloader images. If not, then flash the following using Fastboot mode before installing LineageOS 16 for the first time.
Use the following fastboot flashing codes:
fastboot flash --slot all vendor VendorFileName.img
fastboot flash --slot all radio RadioFileName.img
fastboot flash --slot all bootloader BootloaderFileName.img
Lineage OS 16 Installation

Step 1: Download the lineage os ROM zip file, compatible Google Apps and supersu for root access.
Step 2: Transfer all the files to your device’s internal storage or SDcard.
Step 3: Reboot into TWRP recovery. To do so, Power off the device completely and then press and hold the power button and volume down key for a few seconds.
Step 3: Take Nandroid backup from TWRP: Backup partitions- system, data, boot, recovery, EFS and cache(optional).
Step 4: Wipe the current system or factory reset
Step 5: Go to homescreen and Tap on Install option. Navigate to the lineage os ROM zip file and select it.
Step 6: Confirm flash. Flash the Gapps and SuperSU zip files as well.
Step 7: Reboot to system.
