The resurrection of the best smartphone company – Nokia was the best thing that ever happened to Android community. Nokia just released 4 new Android smartphones viz Nokia 3, Nokia 6, 5, and Nokia 8. The major attraction of these devices are a solid foundation of hardware, software updates, and budget. These phones are very affordable and based on Android operating system. Nokia 5 is now receiving the latest September OTA update even before Google.
Today, Google revealed the Android security bulletin of September 2017. However, Nokia 5 becomes the first device to release the September 2017 Security patch. Here, we have collected a list of OTA updates right from the June 2017 security patch to the September patch level for Nokia 5. Download the latest OTA update and see how to install them directly via stock recovery. All the updates are to make the Android 7.1.1 Nougat firmware even more stable.
Nokia has also promised Android 8.0 Oreo for all of its devices released this year. However, the manufacturer may take some time to compile the latest AOSP sources.

How to install OTA updates of Nokia 5 via stock recovery?
Step 1: Go to Settings > About phone > Software information. See which security patch it has.
Step 2: Download the latest OTA update from the download section above. If your device is running August 2017 security level, then download the September 2017 OTA.
Step 3: Transfer the OTA update to phone storage or SD card.
Step 4: Now reboot device to stock recovery. Turn of the device completely. Then, press and hold Power + Volume Down button simultaneously.
Step 5: Select option like apply updates from storage.
Step 6: Select the OAT update zip file.
Step 7: Select yes and confirm.
