How to install Huawei P9 Lite EMUI 5.0 Android 7.0 Nougat update [all variants]

The Huawei P9 lite is one of the most popular devices from the major Chinese smartphone manufacturer. Huawei devices are known for their build quality and the company’s very own EMUI firmware. Not long ago, Huawei started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update starting with the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus. Later, the company released a brand new EMUI 5.0 firmware which also got an update to EMUI 5.1. After a range of devices, the Lite versions of Huawei P9 and the P8 have started receiving the EMUI 5.0 firmware upgrade.

The OTA and full ROM update come for the Huawei P9 Lite variants including VNS-L21, VNS-L23, VNS-L32 with firmware build number B360, B36, and B362 Nougat. The higher the build number, the more the bug fixes and hence the stability. The system update B360 comes with the February 1, 2017, Android Security Patch Level.

The combination of the above files will get your Huawei P9 Lite to Android 7.0 Nougat based official EMUI 5.0 firmware upgrade. There are 2 ways to install the update listed above. If your device is bootloader unlocked, and have a custom TWRP setup, then flash the above files directly via TWRP. However, take a full Nandroid backup first. Flash the larger file first and then the smaller sized file.

While the device is on complete stock with a stock recovery, update the phone using the Huawei Finder Proxy method. The Firmware Finder app can also list all the latest OTA and Full ROM for any Huawei device directly from Huawei’s severs.
