This is just the beginning of March and already a lot of surprising things are happening all around the Globe. A few days ago, Honor was spotted rolling out the Android Nougat Beata Program for the Honor 6X in the Europe- including France, Germany, UK, and Italy. Unfortunately, the US fans were left out. Nonetheless, honor has recently tweeted through its official Honor USA account on twitter, which clearly shows that Honor is recruiting beta testers for EMUI 5.0 on the Honor 6X. Moreover, this news has not only intrigued us but has also made legit to comment that Honor devices will start receiving the OTA updates for 7.0 Nougat soon, maybe in the Q2. Furthermore, to taste the Nougat experience on your device, you could simply apply for the Beta Tester Program by Honor. You’ll find the instructions below.

EMUI 5.0 beta

The Honor 6X was launched in Q4 of 2016 and it comes with a 5.50-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The heart is powered by 1.7GHz octa-core Kirin 655 processor and it comes with whopping 3GB of RAM. Moreover, it comes packed with 32GB of internal storage, with a choice of expansion up to 128GB via a microSD card. Digging deeper, the 6X sports a 12 MP rear camera, a 8 MP selfie shooter and is fueled by a 3340mAh nonremovable battery to keep it alive.

How to Appy for the EMUI 5.0 Beta Tester Program?

To mention, the Honor 6X is currently running Android 6.0 Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1 and is soon expected to receive EMUI 5.0 Nougat based OTA update. However, you can still enjoy the 7.0 Nougat experience on your  6X device by simply applying to the beta program by Honor. To apply, simply send your device IMEI number to [email protected] via E-mail. You can find your device IMEI no from settings->about phone-> IMEI info or simply dial *#06# on your dialer.

We have already taken a look of Nougat EMUI 5.0 on Honor 8 and Huawei Mate 9 which brings you a lot customization option and enhancement in the app drawer, improved settings, customizable notification bar and a multi-window support. Moreover, it is not specified by Honor about how many testers they are recruiting. So it is recommended you apply to it ASAP.
