There is no stop to the OnePlus update game. It seems like the OnePlus developer has taken their tag line very seriously – Never Settle. It’s the last day of the year and OnePlus wants to make all of its customers happy at the beginning of the new year which is 2017. Following big updates to the OnePlus 3 with Nougat Open Beta 10 and the Oxygen OS 3.5.6 for the OnePlus 2, the development team has now started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat for the OnePlus 3T as well. The upgrade features a new firmware build with Open Beta 1. Currently, the OP 3T runs on the official stable Oxygen OS 3.5.6. (Link below.)

This is similar to the Android 7. 0 Nougat that OnePlus 3 received a couple of months ago. The new firmware is quite stable and comes with tons of customization options, themes, accent colors, advanced Doze Mode, DPI, and much more. You may also find several performance and battery optimizations. However, as the name suggests, this is a Beta version and you may come across some bugs and stability issues. The changelog is listed below. Moreover, download and head towards the instructions in order to install the Nougat update.

Method 2 – Install OnePlus 3T Nougat Beta 1 via TWRP recovery?

Here is a short tutorial on TWRP usage.

  • Make sure you have the modified TWRP version.
  • Download the Open Beta 1 Full ROM zip from above.
  • Reboot into TWRP recovery.
  • Take a Nandroid backup.
  • You can either clean flash or proceed with a dirty flash on previous OOS 3.5.4.
  • Select and confirm installation.
  • Flash TWRP again.
  • Reboot to system.
