The latest flagship phone from HTC, the HTC 10 comes with the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. The stunning device was launched just last month and has gained a lot of popularity for its startling specifications and the latest Sense 8.0 user interface from HTC. Moreover, the has now made the official RUU file for the HTC 10 to all the device owners. This is the full stock firmware file and can be helpful in restoring the device to stock. Now, HTC is rolling out a maintenance release dated May, 10 with firmware build number 1.53.617.5. The update is still Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based and brings security updates from the latest AOSP source, camera performance enhancements, WiFi stability enhancements, and general system stability improvements.

The OTA is rolling out in waves across the globe and weighs around 400 MB. However, we don’t ha e the OTA update just yet. Instead, the manufacturer has released the full firmware file (factory image) also called the RUU that weighs 1.6 GB in size. There are 3 methods to install the RUU. The RUU.exe file listed below can be installed directly by just connecting your HTC 10 to Windows PC and running the RUU file. The other two methods require fastboot files that usually come in RUU.zip extension. You can find the instructions from below. However, unlike the OTA, you will lose all the data and apps as it performs a clean installation and restores it to factory state. The RUU is for the International Unlocked version. Update: Stock RUU EXE and ZIP files for Verizon HTC 10 1.19.605.9 are now available. Also for 1.53.617.5 fro HTC 10.
