Massive Google Chrome Update Brings Gemini AI Integration on Every Tab
The most popular browser, Google Chrome, is getting Gemini AI on every tab. Google has unveiled groundbreaking updates to Chrome that integrate Gemini 3, its most advanced AI model, bringing agentic capabilities directly into your browser. In the top right corner of the browser, users will find a new Gemini option that can be summoned anytime.
For years, web browsers have been passive tools waiting for our commands. We open tabs, we search, we click, we copy and paste. But Google says, what if your browser could actively work alongside you, understanding your needs and handling complex tasks autonomously? That’s exactly what Google is delivering with the latest Chrome updates powered by Gemini 3.
Parisa Tabriz, Vice President of Chrome, describes these updates as having “an assistant that helps you find information and get things done on the web easier than ever before.” This vision is now becoming reality for MacOS, Windows, and Chromebook Plus users.
Google released a showcase video for the new Gemini option in Chrome.
New Chrome Side Panel Experience
Multitasking
One of the most significant additions is the new side panel experience. Gemini in Chrome now operates in a persistent side panel that accompanies you across all your tabs.
Google adds: You can keep your primary research document open while simultaneously using the side panel to summarize articles, compare products across multiple websites, or schedule calendar events. Early testers have embraced this feature for managing information overload, particularly when dealing with multiple tabs that need comparison or synthesis.
Nano Banana Integration
You can now edit/alter images without leaving tabs or your browser:
Google’s Nano Banana technology, previously available in standalone applications, is now integrated directly into Chrome. This means you can transform images on the flyands your unique needs, work patterns, and preferences. Over time, Chrome evolves to become more helpful specifically to you, not just generally helpful to everyone.
Auto Browse
Save Time with Chrome’s Auto Browse Feature
For years, Chrome autofill has streamlined everyday tasks by automatically entering information like addresses and credit card details.
Simply put, Auto Browser will browse for you or perform automated tasks for you with just prompts.
Auto browse can optimize vacation planning by researching hotel and flight prices across different dates, helping you identify the most budget-friendly travel windows. Users can leverage it for diverse tasks, including scheduling appointments, completing lengthy online forms, gathering tax documents, obtaining quotes from contractors, verifying bill payments, submitting expense reports, managing subscriptions, and expediting driver’s license renewals—saving countless hours in the process.
Auto browse, powered by Gemini 3’s multimodal capabilities, can identify items in the image, search for similar products, and add them to your shopping cart while staying within your budget and automatically applying discount codes. With your permission, auto browse can even access Google Password Manager to complete tasks that require signing in.

Connected Apps
Gemini in Chrome Integrates with Your Favorite Apps
Gemini in Chrome supports Connected Apps, including Gmail, Calendar, YouTube, Maps, Google Shopping, and Google Flights. These integrations streamline your workflow and help you accomplish tasks more efficiently. For instance, if you’re traveling to a conference and need to book a flight, Gemini can locate the event details from an old email, pull relevant information from Google Flights to suggest flight options, and then draft an email to inform your colleagues of your arrival time. You can enable these features in the Connected Apps section of Gemini Settings.
