Download Android Auto 13.5 Beta Adds More Cars and Light EVs (APK Breakdown)

Google begins the Android Auto development after releasing latest version 13.5 to the beta channel. The update majorly brings bug fixes and optimizations for various Android and car head units. However, it also comes with some new features and support for more care manufacturers and light EVs.

The previous Android Auto 13.4 beta update is testing floating toolbar for apps and widgets. It also adds new HD Radio playlist ranging from sports to hip hop. As we already know, Android Auto support a wide range of vehicles including cars run on petroleum, electric vehicles, and also Light EVs like motorcycles and scooters. This was confirmed from the previous versions’s APK breakdown adding support for new charging standards like NACS from Tesla and Type 6 & LECCS (Light Electric Combined Charging System) for light EVs such as scooters.

The LECCS charging standard is particularly interesting as it brings Android Auto features to light EVs like scooters. TVS, which only manufacture motorcycles and EV scooters, has been added to Android Auto 13.5. We found the following code in the APK.

The code applauncher_exit_icon_motorcycle further confirms Android Auto being the default for new motorcycles.

This comes in addition to the previously added cars from OEMs like Lucid, Hyundai and Lincoln.

Android Auto may be testing showing the vehicle icon on the car head unit or the Android Auto interface. This may be implemented with showing the logo of the carmaker or an avatar of the car itself.
