Samsung announced its brand new One UI Watch custom software for the next generation of Galaxy Watch devices. Samsung is ditching Tizen UI for Google’s Wear OS software. After almost a year of development, Samsung is finally ready for the One UI Watch public rollout. Starting today, users of Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic can register for the One UI Watch Beta program and download the OTA.
One UI Beta Program for the Galaxy smartphones isn’t unheard of. However, a beta program for a smartwatch is something we have heard about for the first time. Starting today, users of Galaxy Watch 4 and the Watch 4 Classic can register for the One UI Watch Beta program using their smartphones.
Users in the United States and South Korea are reportedly receiving the One UI Watch Beta registration notice in the Samsung Members app. Once registered, you may be able to download the One UI Watch Beta OTA update by visiting settings > system updates.
While the actual rollout was supposed to be live on June 2, 2022, the registration is live starting today. This means the One UI Watch Beta OTA may be available for download today or as soon as June 2, 2022.
As for the features, One UI Watch is built on top of Google’s free and open-source Wear OS firmware for wearable devices, especially smartwatches. Samsung also unveiled some of the features of their new watch interface in a blog post.
