OnePlus 6 and 6T Android 11 Update Release Date Set For August 2021 Brings OxygenOS 11

OnePlus 6 and 6T are the only smartphones left to receive the latest Android 11 firmware update. The 5th generation or older devices from OnePlus will never see another Android OS upgrade. Luckily, the OEM promised OxygenOS 11 for the OnePlus 6 and 6T.

The reason why the entire OnePlus community is excited about the next release is that it features Oxygen OS 11. This includes updated apps and new features. Most importantly, it’s the last major Android OS update the OnePlus 6 series will ever see. After a long wait, the OEM finally broke the silence and revealed the release date of Android 11 for OnePlus 6 and 6T today.

In a most recent April’s OxygenOS FAQs published on the OnePlus forum today answers the most frequently asked question by OnePlus community members.

The very first question OnePlus team answered is when will OnePlus 6 series receive Oxygen OS 11. Apparently, it’s August 2021.

A: The Android 11 Open Beta version for the OnePlus 6 & 6T is scheduled to be released at the end of August, please stay tuned for our Community posts for more details.​
