Xiaomi Mi Box S/4K Gets HotFix Android 9 Beta Update For Green Screen and USB Issues [OTA4 Beta 2]

Xiaomi Mi Box S and Mi Box 4K devices are now receiving a new OTA update to their fourth Android 9 Pie Beta program. It features a new build number OTA4 Beta 2 R3138. This is a HotFix OTA update and a must-have for all the users who have upgraded their Android Box to the latest OTA4 Beta 1.

While the previous update did bring support for Xiaomi’s new¬†Peel Mi Remote app, it also brought some bugs with it such as green screen issues and USB issues. Download and install the latest OTA4 Beta 2 HotFix update for Xiaomi Mi Box S/4K in order to address these issues.

If you don’t already know, Xiaomi rolled out a new Android 9 Pie beta program for the Mi Box with build OTA4 Beta 0 3015. After almost a month’s wait, the OEM released OTA 4 Beta 1 update with a new build that featured Peel Mi Remote support; which is a universal remote for Xiaomi TV and Android Box.

The OTA4 Beta 2 is a must have update if you are on the fourth Android 9 Pie beta program, according to the changelog:

Peel Mi Remote is an extension for the stock Xiaomi Mi Remote that helps you control all of your Xiaomi devices right from your smartphone. It makes the Mi Remote app truly universal for TV and set-top box. However, you still need an infrared IR blaster on your Xiaomi smartphone in order to use the app.

Here we have listed the latest Android 9 Pie OTA4 beta 2 update zips for the Xiaomi Mi Box S/4K with build number R3138. This is the full firmware (or full OTA update). So even if your device is on a stable build or a previous beta build, you can still manually install the new OTA zip via recovery method listed below. The full OTA comes in a huge package of 678 MB in size.

However, note that this is still a beta update and may or may not be stable enough as a daily driver.
