Earlier this month, Xiaomi released stable Android 10 firmware update along with kernel sources for the Mi A3. The second generation Android One phones Mi A2 and A2 Lite have already received the same starting last month. However, the Mi A2 Lite’s Android 10 firmware has been put on hold because it bricked devices or put the phones in Bootloop. Today, a new OTA update is rolling out for the regular Mi A2 based on stable Android 10 firmware. It comes with a new security patch level from March. Here, download and install new Android 10 OTA update for Xiaomi Mi A2.
Mi A2 is receiving a new OTA update with latest March 2020 security patch level based on Android 10. It features a new firmware build number V126.96.36.199.QDIMIXM. Most importantly, the OTA update zip has been captured and available for download. So if you have a Mi A2 device, simply go to settings > system updates > and check for any OTA updates. Alternatively, if you don’t see the update, then grab the full Android 10 OTA update zip from below and manually update your Xiaomi Mi A2.
The full OTA comes in a large package of 1.3 GB in size. It packs all the Android 10 goodies like Dark Mode (or Dark Theme for Android One), smart reply, brand new gesture navigation system, advanced privacy and location controls, and the latest Android security patch level. Moreover, the missing updates in the previous build like VoWiFi and bugs like UI glitches or app crashes may have been addressed. So this new update may very well be a HotFix. Regardless, if your Mi A2 phone is on Android 10, it is highly recommended that you update to the latest March update.
