December 2017 security patch for Verizon Google Pixel devices

Latest month’s software update rollout kickstarts as Google seeds December 2017 security patch for Verizon Google Pixel devices. The package is rolling with the build number OPM1.171019.011 for all the Pixel range of devices. Along with the security level step-up, a fix for the KRACK Wi-Fi Vulnerability also accompanies to fortify the devices. All the smartphones Pixel/Pixel XL/Pixel 2/Pixel 2XL are receiving similar upgrade so naturally, the software moves to the same build number in all of them.

You can see in the above official update release note from Verizon that lists of other security fixes that follow the software patch.

This update is based on Android 8.0 Oreo for all Pixel devices. It is rolling over-the-air(OTA) and will gradually hit the phones all over the US. Also, as of now, Android 8.1 Developer Preview made the round of Google devices in two phases. Hopefully, we can expect a stable rollout of the same later this December or maybe early 2018.
