Google Pixel 2 (XL) factory images and OTA updates available for downloads

The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are the latest smartphones from the tech giant Google. The devices were launched just this month and already available for sale in the United States. Pixel 2 is now available for pre-booking in most of the regions across the globe. It features the latest Android 8.0 Oreo along with features like Picture-in-Picture, auto fill, text prediction, and much more. Not to forget the Google Pixel 2 launcher and stock and live wallpapers it packs. So if you have rooted or made any changes to the system, then grab the factory images and flash it to restore the Pixel 2 phones to complete stock.

The Pixels are supposed to receive another Android 8.1 Oreo update along with November 2017 security patch. This OTA update will activate the Pixel’s very own SoC. Currently, the Pixel devices run on 2 chips – one manufactured by Samsung and one native to the Pixel. Despite just one processor, the Google phones run extremely smooth. It is when the second processor is activated with Android 8.1, we will see the true speed of the Pixels.

Google already updated the downloads repositories for all the Pixel and Nexus phones with October 2017 Security Patch. However, the Pixel and Pixel 2 XL devices still possess the September OTA. According to some sources, the Pixels will go straight to the November patch builds along with KRACK vulnerability fix.
