Install Android 7.0 Nougat for LG G4 international variant H815 [Download V29A]

LG G4 official Android 7.0 Nougat H815 Download V29A

Earlier this month, LG released Android 7.0 Nougat for a lot of Korean variants of the LG G4 including the F500S30b, F500L30b, F500K30c. The firmware update came in the form of KDZ files with v30b and v30c builds. LG also promised the Nougat update for the global variant of LG G4 H815 and today we have a firmware file that can easily get you running. The latest firmware upgrade for H815 comes with build v29a which gives you the build H81529A.

Now, the following package does not come in the form of KDZ firmware file. Rather it comes as a flashable firmware zip file. However, it’s not a custom ROM but an official stock firmware file. All you need to do is flash it over the previous Android 6.0 Marshmallow system. It will replace the TWRP recovery with the LG’s stock recovery, the Bootloader, system, and everything will be stock. It will remove all the system modifications such as root, recovery, etc. But before, you will have to wipe the data, cache, and dalvic cache.

You can also flash it using FlashFire app. In case your device is running a custom ROM like LineageOS, or Resurrection Remix, then you will have to wipe the entire system, data, cache. Except the internal storage. Later, flash it as normal ROM.

Update: The firmware was tested working by a couple of users on the H815P on a locked Bootloader. However, it is still a risk. This firmware build may not work with your H815P variant. We will inform you once the official firmware for the same in available directly from LG.

Use Adiutor to manage the settings.

This is the TWRP method. You can also use FlashFire app to flash the firmware.

Step 1: Make sure your device is rooted with latest TWRP recovery. It is recommended to use the latest TWRP BETA release or the DLM Backup method.

Step 2: Make sure the Bootloader is unlocked on LG G4.

Step 3: Download the LG G4 H815 v29a firmware zip file from here.

Step 4: Transfer it to phone‘s internal storage.

Step 5: Now, reboot phone into TWRP recovery.

Step 6: Take a complete Nandroid backup. Select all the partitions.

Step 7: Wipe the current system. From Advanced Wipe, select partitions like system, data, cache, Dalvik cache. Do not select internal storage.

Step 8: Later, tap on Install and flash the LG G4 Nougat firmware file. Swipe to confirm.

Step 9: After installation, simply choose reboot to system option.

First reboot will take some time to boot up. You will have stock recovery. Reboot into LG recovery and perform a factory reset. First, copy all the files to PC.

In case anything goes wrong, use the LGUP tool and Uppercut to restore LG G4 to stock Marshmallow using KDZ.

You can still unlock the Bootloader and flash TWRP and root via latest Magisk. However, it may also brick the device. So do it at your own risk.
