Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC520TL) variant now receiving Nougat 7.0 update

Nougat for Asus Zenfone 3 Max is finally rolling out today in accordance with the announcement on the ZenTalk forum. With various devices like ZenPad 3S 10 and Zenfone 3 Zoom receiving their Nougat updates a while ago, Asus sure seems to have their hands full at the moment.

The update come against the build number V14.10.1705.35 and will be sent via OTA in stages, which means it will take about one week for the system to complete the auto push. While Asus did not go into detail regarding the official changelog for the Nougat update, the following changes are expected:

  • ZenUI cleanup
  • Split screen functionality
  • Customisable Tiles Settings
  • Updated ZenUI Keyboard
  • Enhanced Gaming mode

While the ZC520TL variant has just received its Nougat update, ZenFone 3 Max (ZC553KL) released the update in the month of May itself. The update also brings in the security patch for the month of June.

Manually Update Asus Zenfone 3 Max to Nougat

While the update will eventually hit your device, there’s always a probability of having missed it. Fortunately, you can check manually by following the steps given below:

  • Ensure that you are connected to a stable network (Wi-Fi recommended) and have sufficient battery
  • Go to Settings → About → System Update
  • Select Update Now
  • Wait for the Update to finish and restart your device

Note: The above method only works if you are using stock ROM
