Xiaomi Mi 5c unveiled today with in-house SoC Surge S1 [ Updated Stock Wallpapers Download]
Today, the Chinese smartphone maker- Xiaomi has made Lion’s entry with its new Mi 5c Android device. The most intriguing thing about this device is that it features Xiaomi’s very own SoC chipset named as ‘Surge S1’. This makes Xiaomi the second smartphone manufacturer after Huawei to produce its own processors. Surprisingly, after a bunch of leaks and rumors, the Mi 5C becomes the first device to be privileged by the Surge S1. The SoC (System-On-Chip) sport an octa-core CPU with 28nm process and runs up to 2.2 GHz. Besides the epic processor, Xiaomi also embedded GPU (graphics processing unit), memory, USB controller, power management circuits, and wireless radios (WiFi, 3G, 4G LTE) for better communication.

Specifications and features of Xiaomi Mi 5C:
Xiaomi’s new Surge S1 octa-core 64-bit processor (2.2GHz quad-core A53 + 1.4GHz quad-core A53 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM should certainly make the device a flagship killer of 2017. It sports a stunning 132g light-weight metal unibody with curved edges for better screen protection. Moreover, as the optics are concerned, the Mi 5C comes loaded with 5.15-inch full-HD 1080×1920 pixel curved glass display, it has super thin 1.6mm bezels and the display runs at a pixel density of 428ppi. To store your data, the device offers 64GB inbuilt storage, with no option for data expansion, supports dual-SIM (Nano + Nano) cards.
Digging even deeper, the 5C will be released with MIUI 8.2 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It will be released in China on March 3 in Rose Gold, Gold, and Black color options. Xiaomi has also promised to release it’s first MIUI 8 based Android 7.0 Nougat update in March 2017. As per the optics are concerned, it sports a 12 MP rear camera with large 1.25-micron pixels, a f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash. Looking into the front it has a 8 MP selfie shooter with a f/2.0 aperture, and 27mm wide-angle lens. The most highlighting factor to mention here is- it has a large 1.25μm pixel size camera sensor which runs on Surge ISP algorithm, which enhances light sensitivity by up to 150%
Moreover, to keep the device alive, it is fueled by 2860mAh battery with fast charging support. It also has a fingerprint sensor placed underneath the home button, Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB Type-C, a 3.5mm audio jack, and FM radio.
