Samsung One UI 8.5 Beta 7 Is Here: Expands to More Galaxy Phones and New Airdrop Update
Samsung has rolled out the seventh beta build of One UI 8.5 (version ZZCD), and while it’s not a headline-grabbing feature drop, it brings a handful of meaningful improvements that Galaxy S25 users will appreciate. The update weighs in at just under 929 MB, runs on Android 16, and bumps the security patch level to March 5, 2026.
Samsung One UI 8.5 Beta 7 Is Here ā What’s New?
The most notable addition this time around is a new story type in the Gallery app ā Samsung is introducing monthly, quarterly, and annual “rewind” collections, giving users a more curated way to look back at their memories. Beyond that, Beta 7 is largely focused on squashing bugs. The camera’s quick view thumbnail was breaking when the latest video was stored exclusively in the cloud, and that’s now fixed. A pair of issues in Studio related to save resolution changes ā where settings weren’t properly resetting to their original values ā have also been ironed out.
On the system side, Samsung addressed flickering that was occurring when real-time notification cards refreshed, and fixed a bug where bubble notification badges stubbornly stuck around even after being read. A few other niggles got cleaned up too: the clock shortcut was disappearing when the screen turned off during Now Brief, video metadata errors were causing incorrect dates when saving edits, scrolling captures in Naver Map were failing, and certain folders couldn’t be copied when sharing storage with a Galaxy Book 4. All told, a solid stability-focused update as One UI 8.5 inches closer to a stable release.
