Stable Android Auto 14.7 Adds Gemini in Phone Settings, AI for Cars Sooner Than Expected

The reality of Gemini Live assistant for cars seems to be coming sooner than expected as Google added some new piece of code featuring new AI assistant in Android Auto settings. Some users will soon see new Gemini settings in Android Auto app. Once you see these settings, you will know Gemini is activated.

Some code we found in the latest Android Auto 14.7 stable update include settings_gemini_barge_in_mode, settings_general_settings_title, and settings_gemini_settings_title. This suggests when Gemini is activated, it will show up in phone settings.

Earlier this year, we were the first to unveil Gemini Live code into Android Auto suggesting the new AI is already being tested. Following, the revelation, Google unveiled everything about Gemini for Android Auto, including the upcoming features like:

A dedicated AI assistant called Gemini AI for cars
Expanded app availability on Android Auto with video support during parked mode
Material 3 Expressive Design implementation
Enhanced vibrant dark and light mode themes, and
The Gemini Live Experience

Gemini for Android Auto will come with the following features:

Communicate across language barriers by having messages automatically translated into over 40 different languages
Search for restaurants or points of interest along your route with natural language queries like “find some good taco places along the way”
Access information from reviews and answer common questions about businesses you’re interested in visiting
Connect seamlessly with Google Maps, YouTube Music, Spotify, Calendar, and other apps
Even locate information buried in your Gmail, such as the location of your child’s upcoming soccer game

Apart from this, Gogole also unveiled Gemini Live for conversations on the go.The Gemini Live feature introduces a more conversational AI experience that’s perfectly suited for driving. By simply saying “Hey Google, let’s talk,” drivers can engage Gemini in brainstorming sessions or get assistance with important matters.

This functionality will be available on Android Auto-compatible vehicles in the coming months and will reach cars with Google built-in later this year.

This AI assistant will facilitate natural voice conversations and enable seamless multitasking through intuitive voice commands.
