Download latest Open Beta update for OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro

OnePlus just recently launched their latest flagship phones called OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. However, that does not mean the manufacturer has forgotten their previous generation devices just yet. OnePlus 7 series keeps on getting monthly update via stable channel and bi-monthly updates via Open Beta channel. A new Oxygen OS based beta update for the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro is now rolling out with some bug fixes, new features, and security updates. So download and install latest Open Beta 14 for the OnePlus 7 (Pro).

The latest Open Beta 14 fixed the problem where some software voice input wonโ€™t be recognized. Fixed and issue with contacts disappearing in the address book on some devices. Added more clock style options for ambient display under Settings โ€”> Customization โ€”> Clock style. Most importantly, the devices got the latest Android Security Patch from April 2020.

The previous Open Beta 12 was a disaster. After the update, users couldnโ€™t unlock their lock screens even with the correct pin on some OnePlus 7 and 7 pro devices; according to this OnePlus post. The manufacturer soon paused the update and released Open Beta 13 HotFix. The update featured April 2020 security update, system improvements including optimization to volume adjustment for improved user experience, added the missing recording icon in call screen, added the ringing duration info for missed call. Most importantly, you could switch your mobile data on phone calls with VoLTE support. The camera app got a new detect dirt on the camera lens feature; prompting a quick cleanup for better image and video quality.

The OnePlus 8 series, 7 series, 6 series, and most recently the OnePlus 5 series are all running on latest Android 10 OS update. However, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro comes with a newer Oxygen OS 10.5 build with some exclusive features. The good news is that the manufacturer promised to bring OnePlus 8 features to the previous generation phones including 7 series and 6 series. These features will fist come to OnePlus via Open Beta program. Hence, the beta program is pretty important.

Moreover, Google is testing their next Android 11 OS update for the Pixel series. So as soon as the developer preview is over, the OnePlus 7 devices will receive Android 11 via Open Beta channel. Meanwhile, download and install Open Beta 14 for OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro.
