List of Project Treble supported Android devices

Update: The list of Project Treble supported Android devices have been updated. Ever since Google released Android 8.0 Oreo, Project Treble has become the hottest topic lately. With Project Treble it becomes quite easy to develop a custom ROM and flash a stock AOSP 8.0 Oreo build onto your Treble enabled Android device. Usually, Google updates Android OS sources under its AOSP project. These sources are then used by smartphone manufacturers  and custom ROM developers to push it to their devices. The procedure becomes quite lengthy and some manufacturer even give up eventually.

This is where Project Treble can be useful to get the latest Android OS onto your phone. Though we haven’t see many treble related ROM ports, it is the thing of the future and we are excited. You can read more about Project Treble from XDA-Developers at the bottom of this post.

From now on, every single Android phone that comes pre-installed with Android 8.0 Oreo has to support project treble. However, the older phones which are later updated to Oreo may not receive treble support. It is not mandatory for Android phones launched with Nougat or earlier to support treble. Hence, users are signing petitions to bring about a change. Sign the petitions from the bottom of the post.

Here are some unfortunate Android phones which won’t support Project Treble. This includes this year’s Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, OnePlus 5, 5T, 3, 3T, etc.

The Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ are already on Android Oreo with the latest Oreo Beta 3 build. Both the Exynos (SM-G950F, SM-G955F) and Snapdragon (SM-G950U, SM-G950U) models have received Oreo Beta 3. So it is highly important to sign the change.org petition right now so we may see Project Treble in the next beta updates

On the contrary, OnePlus listens to its customers and it is very easy to reach out to them via their forums. The manufacturer brings about the latest trends to their smartphones. Recently, they brought the November 2017 security patch and support for Bluetooth aptX HD Audio Codec for OnePlus 3 and 3T with the latest Oxygen OS Open Beta 28 and Beta 19. So if you sign the petition, they might as well support Project Treble.
