Following the many Nougat updates like Android 7.0, and Android 7.1.1 for Sony Xperia X series and Z series, here we are with the latest August 2017 Security Patch. The first few devices to receive the same are the Sony Xperia X, X Performance, and Xperia XZ. The latest 1 August 2017 Android security patch brings a new firmware build version 41.2.A.7.53 for Xperia XZ and X Performance against the previous version 41.2.A.7.35. It will soon roll out for the XZ series devices shortly.
We have seen Android 7.1.1 Nougat for many Xperia X series phones with software version 34.3.A.0.206 and 34.3.A.0.217. So for the latest software update, download the full stock FTF firmware and flash via SP Flash Tool.
How to download the August 2017 security patch update for Sony Xperia Android phones?
Download and install the full stock firmware in FTF format directly from Sony servers.
Step 1: Download and extract the XperiFirm software download tool for Sony. Run the XperiFirm_500.exe file.
Step 2: You will see a list of Sony Xperia devices. Select your device name and exact model number.
Step 3: Select the device variant or region it belongs to. Now double-click the Available Firmware button on the right panel (right under the device image). Start downloading.
