First official MIUI 9 ROM now available for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4/4X – Download now
Update: The MIUI 9 ROM is now also available for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Note 4X. Xiaomi revealed its latest MIUI 9 firmware and all of its features to the world including the user interface. The MIUI 9 is known for its smooth transition and extremely light weight UX. Even the tag line for MIUI 9 says its fast. Though the MIUI 9 official launch is supposed to start from August 11, 2017, we already have the first MIUI 9 firmware build for some of the Xiaomi device. The first device to receive it is the stunning Redmi Note 4. For what we know, its is based on Android 7.0 Nougat and latest security update from AOSP.
The MIUI 9 ROM listed below is the China developer ROM and not the Global ROM. However, you can still install it on your phone with ease. You can change the language as desired. As it is China developer ROM, it comes with some bloatware. So make sure your device is bootloader unlocked so you can root MIUI 9 via Magisk or SuperSU. That way, you can remove the bloatware.

How to install MIUI 9 ROM onto Xiaomi Redmi Note 4?
Being a Fastboot file, you will need the MiFlashTool to flash it. The MIUI flash tool will flash the entire ROM with a few clicks. Following is a brief tutorial. You can check this guide for detailed instructions on how to use MiFlash tool.
Although this method shall work on locked Bootloaders, it is highly recommended to unlock it. Refer to the guide here to unlock your Xiaomi phone.
Step 1: Download the latest MIUI ROM Flashing Tool (MiFlashTool)
Step 2: Make sure to setup ADB and Fastboot drivers on your PC.
Step 3: Reboot into Fastboot Mode or Bootloader Mode. To do so, power off your Xiaomi the device completely. Now press and hold Volume Down+Power buttons simultaneously to enter Fastboot mode.
Step 4: Now connect your Android phone to PC via USB cable.
Step 5: Extract the downloaded MIUI 9 ROM zip.
Step 6: Now enter the extracted folder and copy the path from address bar.
Step 7: Install and run the MiFlash Tool (MIUI 9 flashing tool) and paste the folder path of the ROM as shown below.
Step 8: Click on the first Refresh button (highlighted in yellow). MiFlash tool should automatically recognize the device.
Step 9: Now, click the second Flash button (highlighted in red) to flash the ROM file to the device.
Step 10: Wait until the progress bar inside MiFlash turns fully green.
Once you get a success message, it means the ROM has been successfully installed.
Your device should automatically boot to the new version. In case something going wrong or your device gets stuck in bootloop, you can factory reset from stock recovery. Moreover, you can simply download the Mi PC Suit and restore Xiaomi device to stock.
