Android O AndroidSage 1

The penultimate update leading to the official release of Android O is now out for Nexus and Pixel devices. With Android O coming out in Q3 of this year, the Developer Preview 4 is the closest one can get to know the latest features that Google will be going with in the official update.

Android O Timeline

The update is currently out for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel, Pixel XL and Pixel C devices and is available for download down below. With final API’s already being made available in the Developer Preview 3, the latest build offers bug fixes and optimizations along with an updated final API (API level 26) which was already available since the Developer Preview 3.

Furthermore, Google has complemented the release with the launch of the stable version of Android 26.0.0 Support Library to build compatibility and provide features across previous versions of Android which are available on Android O. Google has also promised incremental updates to the SDK, tools, and Android Emulator system images to be provided in a matter of days.

The tech giant will also be releasing a new version of Android Testing Support Library which encompasses new features like Android Test Orchestrator, Multiprocess Espresso, and various other elements, the details regarding which will be provided by Google at a later stage.

These are the latest files for the Developer Preview 4 for the Nexus and Pixel devices. As always, before installing the files, ensure that you have a proper ADB and Fastboot setup on your system, extract the zip file and run the ‘flash-all.bat‘ file on your PC.
