Following the release of the Nougat Beta for many Android devices from Huawei, like the Honor 8, Huawei P9 & P9 Lite, the Mate 8 has finally received the Android 7.0 firmware update based on the latest EMUI 5.0 UX. On the contrary, the Huawei has also claimed the official stable EMUI 5.0 firmware update for the Mate 8 and will be released tomorrow.

The Mate 8 was the former flagship smartphone from the manufacturer that became quite popular due to its stunning specs. With Nougat update, the users have started installing the Beta firmware and are now waiting for the stable release.

The stock firmware files are available for many Mate 8 models including NXT-L09, XT-L29, NXT-C00, NXT-AL10 and much more. We have listed both the stable as well as the Beta Android 7.0 Nougat firmware below.

Spotted official stable Nougat EMUI 5.0 build for Huawei Mate 8

The official stable Android 7.0 Nougat for the Mate 8 B562 has been spotted on the official Huawei Chinese forum and here are the files:

How to update Huawei Mate 8 to Android 7.0 Nougat EMUI 5.0 stock firmware files?

Here is how to manually update your Huawei mate 8 to Android 7.0 Nougat with stable or Beta firmware.

Make sure you have unlocked the bootloader on Huawei Mate 8. You can also use the SRK tool from here to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP and much more. Installation procedure here.
Make sure you have a custom TWRP recovery installed on your device. Here is how to setup TWRP on Android device.
Download the update file you want and transfer files to phone storage.
Reboot into TWRP recovery.
Backup everything via TWRP or using the built in backup app.
Flash update.zip file from the link above.
Reboot to system. If it gives you some error, ignore it.

How to rollback to stable Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Huawei Mate 8?

In order to restore the previous stock firmware on your Huawei Mate 8 device, you can easily restore the backup you took from TWRP recovery. You can also use the rollback package to EMUI 4.1 based on Marshmallow. Here is the rollback package for the Huawei Mate 8.
