The Galaxy Tab S2 SM-T815 seems to be the first Samsung tablet to be receiving the official TopuchWiz Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware upgrade. Samsung has been releasing this official update to many of its new devices including the Galaxy Note 5, the Note 4, the Galaxy S6 (Edge) and the S6 Edge Plus series and many of their variants. Not to forget the Samsung S5 that jumped from Android 5.0 to 6.0.1, just like this Galaxy Tab S2. The update started rolling out in Germany which means Europe should be the first continent for the OTA for further releases. This brings the build number T815XXU2BPD6 to the Tab S2 with latest April security patch from the AOSP source. The full Samsung firmware files come in the form of a tar file with a .tar extension that can be installed/flashed using a popular Odin software and booting your device into download mode (also called as Odin Mode). Odin is a Samsung specific tool which is most commonly used to flash stock firmware, install custom packages like TWRP recovery, CF Auto Root, etc. If you have not received the update yet, then hit the download section below and grab the full firmware file and perform a quick upgrade. Take a note that it will perform a clean firmware installation and all the data and apps will be wiped out. Hence, backup is highly recommended. Also, note that this firmware is device specific so verify your device’s build number.
