ChatGPT 5 Details Leaked: New Models and Go Subscription Plan

ChatGPT 5 Models
OpenAI employee accidentally leaked GPT-5’s model and some of its details on Github page! While the Github page has been taken down now, an archive is still available detailing some exciting features and improvements coming to GPT-5. New models are gpt-5, gpt-5-mini, gpt-5-nano, and gpt-5-chat.
The leaked page says:
The latest AI model from OpenAI, GPT-5, is now available on GitHub Models.
GPT-5 is OpenAI’s most advanced model, offering major improvements in reasoning, code quality, and user experience. It handles complex coding tasks with minimal prompting, provides clear explanations, and introduces enhanced agentic capabilities, making it a powerful coding collaborator and intelligent assistant for all users.
The following model variants of GPT-5 are available:
- gpt-5: Designed for logic and multi-step tasks.
- gpt-5-mini: A lightweight version for cost-sensitive applications.
- gpt-5-nano: Optimized for speed and ideal for applications requiring low latency.
- gpt-5-chat: Designed for advanced, natural, multimodal, and context-aware conversations for enterprise applications.
You can access the GPT-5 in the Models tab and try it out in the GitHub Models playground, or through the GitHub API. Experiment with sample prompts, refine your ideas, and iterate as you build. You can also try them alongside other models, including those from Cohere, DeepSeek, Meta, and Microsoft.

ChatGPT 5 dropping in a few hours
The OpenAI Twitter account just teased a huge drop about a possible ChatGPT 5 launch.

Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, just confirmed the next-generation of ChatGPT, with GPT-5 version is already available and is being internally tested. This confirms ChatGPT 5 may be coming sooner than expected. According to the roadmap disclosed back in February 2025, GPT-5 will be released in Q4 2025.
In a recent Twitter post, Sam Altman showcased a response from ChatGPT 5 when asked it. The response show ChatGPT 5 model running on Sam’s computer.
GPT-5 Documentation Leaked by Google Index
Furthermore, a brief appearance of a GPT-5 documentation page in Google’s search index has sparked intense speculation about the timeline for the next generation of ChatGPT’s underlying technology.
On July 31st, someone noticed that Google had briefly indexed an official-looking GPT-5 documentation URL following OpenAI’s standard documentation pattern:

While the page now returns a 404 error, the fact that it was public long enough for Google’s crawlers to cache the title and meta description suggests this wasn’t merely an internal testing page accidentally exposed.
According to some, identical documentation leaks occurred for both GPT-4.5 and GPT-4o, appearing in Google’s index before their official announcements. This pattern suggests that OpenAI follows a consistent pre-launch procedure where documentation is prepared and briefly made public before the models themselves are released.
Unlimited ChatGPT 5 Access for Free Tier?
In a previous post made by Sam Altman on Twitter dated February 13, 2025, the company shared details about the GPT-4.5 and upcoming GPT-5. The update signals a major shift away from the cumbersome array of models and towards a more intuitive, integrated system.
The CEO also added, unlike previous models, GPT-5 is designed to be a comprehensive system that not only incorporates improved reasoning and processing capabilities but also integrates features such as voice, canvas, search, and deep research. The transition includes phasing out standalone models like o3, with GPT-5 serving as the central hub that intelligently selects the most appropriate tools for any given query.
Now here’s the most intriguing part. Sam also added that the free tier of ChatGPT will offer unlimited access to GPT-5 at a standard level of intelligence, ensuring that state-of-the-art AI is available to a broad audience. Meanwhile, Plus and Pro subscribers will benefit from even higher levels of processing power and refined outputs.
Will ChatGPT 5 be free as the CEO claimed? Possibly. Hitting the usage limit on free tire is rare nowadays for an average user as is. Even if GPT 5 does not come with unlimited messages on free tier, hitting the message limit won’t be an issue for an average user.
